Red Door 2/22/2011

On this one I simply made a selection on the door and pulled it over on top of the red door picture and did content aware scale to make it as big at the red door image. After that I reduced the opacity and added the text and changed the color to about the color of the door that is over lapping the red door.

I really liked the windows in those old houses so I used one of the windows to take my reverse depth pictures.

The ghost pictures had to be taken specifically at 2 seconds because it was very bright in that room at the time and any less wouldn't capture the subject. The freeze frame was fun but super easy because the sun had just come out.

I really liked this fence post and the sun came out right as I was taking the picture.

I wanted this one to be more of a profile picture so I took it from an angle I wouldn't normally do.

If you cant tell the ones on top are the originals and then the ones below are the HDR edits. All of these I just opened in Photomatix and chose the one that looked best or I liked the best.  The one with the fence i upped the saturation a little more but it pretty much did that on its own with the sky, I just made the bushes stand out more. I also did the same thing with the Provo Mountains picture.

I used the Photomatix program to combine these three images and I honestly did do much more the image after it combined the three. I upped the color saturation a little and darkened it slightly.

I did the same thing with the photo but it actually was pretty light when it finished so I darkened it up quite a bit more.

Fine Art Template

Rain Forest 2/17/2011
Orchid image 1/15/2011
Shutter speed 1/100 sec F-stop 8
Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
BYU Provo Greenhouse
I tried the traditional template for this one like we were shown in class which I really liked for this image. Trying the shortcuts to make the bars would NOT work for me so I did have to use the rectangle tool multiple times to create this effect. After I got the rectangles I merged all the shapes and held option and clicked in between the shapes layer and the image to place the image in the boxes.

Roses Are Red 2/17/2011
Roes and lights image 2/15/2011

I took all the same steps to create this template that I did with the one above but I really wanted to try something a little less traditional and so I simply created multiple boxes that were not the same.

Night lights

I always really liked the lights they have out in front of the movie theatre so I went and tried to capture the lights going off.

The lights went out for about half an hour in our apartment when I took these an I had just come home with glow sticks so we had some fun.

For this one I actually got on the ground and let my roommates throw glow sticks over me while I moved the camera slightly.

Scanography

Valentine's Day 2/8/2011
Epson Scanner
I used some flowers that were dying from my house to do this image. Placing them and getting them to stay was not easy.

Surfer Painting 2/8/2011
Epson Scanner
To make this image did three different scans. Then in photoshop I combined them and reduced the opacity a little with the paint and paint brushes images. Once I was done I added a slight border glow and flattened the image.

Border Edits

Patriotic 2/4/2011
Olympus Imaging Corp u850SW,S850SW
Aperture 1/250  F-stop 3.5
I made the border on this one by adding a white box over the photo, lowering the opacity, then using the paint brush to paint out the spots I didn't want having the white border over it.

Joseph 2/4/2011
Olympus Imaging Corp u850SW,S850SW
Aperture 1/200  F-stop 3.5
I crated this picture and the one below mush the  same. First I copied the original, then I added a layer, after that i used the history brush tool to brush the image on the layer, I added a black box behind it, then added the text.

Rocky 2/4/2011
Olympus Imaging Corp u850SW,S850SW
Aperture 1/15  F-stop 3.5
The only thing different I did to this picture that I didn't do to the picture above was on the name Rocky Balboa I used the paint brush to paste over parts of the name to make it look like it was part of the image.
